Superga x Drea Chong (Andrea) launches third footwear collection, Essentials

One of our favourite shoe brands, Superga and local influencer Andrea Chong (Drea) has partnered up once again for a third collection, the Essentials. Unlike the first two collections, where it was inspired by Drea’s travels, the Essentials is inspired by Drea’s day to days go-tos. Going back to the basics once more, the collection introduces two new styles in the classic Superga canvas material – Slingback and Ballerina. Let’s also not forget the new colours – Fresh laundry (clean cream), Lavender mist (lilac), Weekend bakes (nude) and Garden party (light green).

Slingback

A reconstruction of the Superga 2402 Mule. Drea reduced the number of eyelets on the sneaker. From five to three, to give us a flattering feminine silhouette. The soles of the shoes are also reduced in height to give the sneaker a soft and graceful look. A back strap is added with adjustable tonal buckle to the cutaway back.

The sneakers come in iconic Espadrille soles. Just like the Slingback, a canvas upper and details are kept to a minimum. Three sets of eyelets per sneaker instead of the usual five. The best part? These slip ons doesn’t require you to wear socks. But of course if you want to, you can. Pair them with your favourite pair of jeans or dress.

The colour Weekend Bakes is a nude shade is inspired by Drea’s love of being in the kitchen. Lavender Mist is a lilac hue inspired by the exact scent of Drea’s room. Fresh Laundry is an all-time favourite cream, inspired by the smell of fresh laundry in Drea’s house. Garden Party is a soft shade of green inspired by the greens found in Drea’s herb garden. YES, it is all about Drea, and we are loving it.

In addition to the shoes, a tote bag will be part of the collection. The price is TBC, but hey, wouldn’t you want a matching bag to go with your brand new shoes?

Superga will be donating 5% of sales from this collection to Free Food for All, a community-led charity that provides free food to the less fortunate and empowers them to become contributing members of society.

Superga x Drea Chong retails for S$139.90 and launches on July 17th 2020 at 10am. Exclusively at superga.com.sg.
