Sony is developing a live-action film based on ‘One Punch Man’ manga series with Venom writers.

The writers of Venom, Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker have taken on the challenge of writing the live-action film adaption of One Punch Man. We are crossing our fingers that this would not turn out like Netflix’s live-action adaption of Death Note. As far as we know, live-action adaptions of an anime series doesn’t really turn out too well. So we are definitely hoping that this film turns out great!

For those of you who doesn’t know One Punch Man, it is a hugely popular web comic created in 2009 by Japanese Artist ONE. The manga quickly went viral and in 2012, it was published on Shueisha’s Young Jump Next with illustrations by Yusuke Murata along with ONE. The series sold over 30 million copies worldwide. The English edition published in the US in 2015 and was nominated for an Eisner and Harvey Award. Since then, One Punch Man has led to a critically acclaimed anime TV series, video and mobile game.

One Punch Man takes you on a journey with Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch. After growing bored by a lack of challenge in his fight against evil he became a hero looking to find a worthy opponent. If you’ve not read or watch the anime, we suggest that you do because it is amazing!

There are no other information on when the film is going to be released or who is casted. So we just have to wait patiently for Sony to reveal more about the film. With Sony backing the production of the live-action adaption of One Punch Man, let’s hope that the film will turn out great just like the anime.
