Everyone knows David Attenborough or at least heard his voice before. David Attenborough has worked with BBC for almost 70 years and a legendary documentary maker. His voice is synonymous with nature documentaries (Our Planet, Planet Earth II, Blue Planet II and more). And now, to further cement his stand on the impact humankind is having on the planet, he is releasing a new book and Netflix documentary on climate change.
The book titled ‘A Life on our Planet: My Witness Statement and Vision for the Future’, will be published by Penguin Random House in October 2020 along with a new Netflix documentary of the same name.
In a press statement, David Attenborough said, “The Earth’s life-support machine, the thing we humans rely upon for everything we need, runs on its biodiversity. et the way we live on Earth now is sending it into a decline. I have been a witness to this decline. This book contains my witness statement, and my vision for the future — the story of how we came to make this, our greatest mistake, and how, if we act now, we can yet put it right”. From the sounds of this, the book will highlight the impact humankind has on the natural world and the real danger if nothing is being done. At the same time, the book will describe ways on how we can prevent it from happening or even slowing these negative impacts.
During this global pandemic, David Attenborough has been teaching online geography lessons to kids at home. At the same time, having serious conversations with Greta Thun berg about climate activism. If only he taught us geography too. But it’s alright, now we can look forward to his new book and new Netflix documentary in October 2020.
