With Pride Month coming up, by coming up we meant June, we see many brands coming out with Pride-themed collections. Here are 4 popular shoe brands that did just that:
Pride month is coming up, in June (for those who doesn’t know) and Adidas has added the Nite Jogger into its ‘Pride Pack’. Taking inspiration from the LGBTQ+ flag, every colour on the flag is used on the Nite Jogger.
We have the classic white base and black Three Stripe graphic but if you look closely, each strip is rimmed with red, orange or yellow thread. Heel clips are yellow, mudguards orange and toe caps red. Eyestays are split between purple and blue, while a green piece arrives around the collar.
The inside of each foam tongue features the word ‘Love’ and “unites’, a motif replicated again on the laces.
The shoe will be made available on the Adidas US website on June 15. They retail at 130USD.
Under Armour launches a tie-dyed Pride 2020 collection. That enters around a vibrant HOVR Phantom 1 Slip. Why tie-dye? Because the original 1978 Pride flag was hand-dyed in San Fransisco and Under Armour is bringing back the meaningful DIY nature.
HOVR Phantom 1 Slip has flexible laceless shape that is covered in every colour of the LGBTQ+ flag. The HOVR Phantom is a collaboration undertaken by Under Armour’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group. This pair of shoes is part of Under Armour’s Pride collection that carries apparels as well.
HOVR Phantom Slip is available on Under Armour’s US website and is retailing for 140USD.
Converse have revealed their Pride collection which includes Chuck 70 Hi, Chuck 70 Ox and Chuck Taylor. All of them are entered around the “More Color, More Pride” flag designed by Amber Hikes in 2017.
Converse decided to go all out this year will its classic Chuck Taylors in sequins and rainbows. It is definitely filled with embellishments, sparkles and glitters. Something different that Converse has done in this collection is adding special heel embellishments. Converse’s Pride collection includes both footwear, apparels and accessories.
Converse’s Pride collection is available on their Converse US website.
Nike reveals their BETRUE collection ahead of Pride Month 2020. Some of our favourite Nike shoes are in the collection: Air Force 1, Air Max 2090 and ACG Air Deschutz. Nike has always played their part during Pride Month. As Nike supports more than 20 organisations that supports the LGBTQ+ community.
It is the first time Nike’s Air Force 1 would be appearing in BETRUE. All ten colours of the “More Colour, More Pride” flag are stacked in the heel, tongue and midsole. The Air Max 2090 uses asymmetrical detailing with the ten colours of the flag as well onto its semi-translucent synthetic upper. And ACG’s Deschutz does something different. It is mostly black. The ten colours of the flag is weaved into it’s upper straps and a Pride-styled ‘fanny pack’ on its heel.
Nike’s BETRUE collection is available on NIKE US website on June 19.
Alternatively, Apple launches 2 new Pride-themed Apple Watch Bands and one of those bands are a collaboration with Nike.
