For all you DC fans, the time has come. ‘Snyder Cut’ of Justice League will be coming exclusively to HBO Max in 2021. Zack Snyder announced the news to fans during a watch party and 2020 seems to be getting better already.
For fans who do not know who Zack Snyder is, he is the credited director of 2017’s Justice League. But the film was finished by director Joss Whedon. Which started a social media fan initiative to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut. We all have to admit that 2017’s Justice League was terrible and fans hated it. Yes, hated it. It was basically DC trying too hard to surpass The Avengers and failed miserably. DC fans just couldn’t sit still and watch DC destroy their beloved Justice League.
That’s when #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement was born. Fans called, petitioned, even bought a Times Square billboard and chartered a plane to fly a banner over comic-con. In other words, they went nuts. On Justice Leagues’s secondary anniversary, the movie’s stars Ben Affleck (plays Batman) and Gal Gadot (plays Wonder Woman) added their voices on twitter as well. The hashtag was trending on twitter and fans just went wild.
Warner Bros responded and now Snyder’s cut of Justice League will be expected to debut in 2021 on HBO Max, the WarnerMedia digital streaming service launching May 27. We are still unsure on whether it will be a 4-hours long director’s cut or a six chapter series. But Snyder did reveal that ‘It will be an entirely new thing, and, especially talking to those who have seen the released movie, a new experience apart from that movie’.
Alternatively, The new ‘Hunger Games’ Book: ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’ is out. Could there be a movie too?. Another movie we can all look forward to.
