Expedia’s new virtual travel from home experience

The new normal in 2020 is ‘stay-home-as-much-as-you-can’. All your 2020 travel plans will most probably stay as plans indefinitely. So many companies and places have made used of technology to help fulfil everyones’s wanderlust during this stay home period. And Expedia isn’t any different. Expedia curated a new virtual travel from home experience to help curb some of that wanderlust. Let’s not forget that this virtual experience is free!

This new virtual travel from home experience consist of 8 categories: 

Nature and outdoors

If you love nature, this is the category for you (for obvious reasons). Escape the hustle and bustle of life and just visit a couple of the national parks. You have the Yosemite National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Death Valley National Park and more. These videos are put together by Expedia’s own travel guides. Expect clips of nature and the outdoors with bits of background information about the location.

There are not just videos but depending on the places you choose you might just get an interactive platform that was put together by National geographic.

Museums

Culture buffs, this is the one for you. Enter into the world of arts, science, history and architecture. With virtual visits into some of the world’s most famous national museums like the Louvre Museum, Frida Kahlo Museum and The National Museum. There is a museum for everyone. The best part? Theres no need to line up. (Unless your internet lags)

Gardens

Our personal favourite. Take a walk down your favourite garden (please imagine that you are walking) and enjoy the sights and sounds of the famous gardens. Surround yourself with colourful flowers on a virtual tour to famous gardens across the globe. There is our local Gardens by the Bay, Claude Monet’s Garden and Highgrove Gardens. And it never rains! That has got to be the best part sunny all the time.

Music and Theatre

Musical and theatre lovers rejoice. You get to not only enjoy 100s of concerts, you get to experience the sounds produced from the different halls (it’s a thing, musicians will know what we are saying).
