Netflix announces ‘The Umbrella Academy’ season 2 premiere date

This is one of the Netflix series we have been patiently waiting for, The Umbrella Academy Season 2! Thank you Netflix for releasing this, we really needed some entertainment and distraction from this global pandemic. Netflix made the announcement on Monday via a video that the family of heroes are coming back on July 31.

The Umbrella Academy will have Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min reprising their roles of The White Violin, Spaceboy, The Kraken, The Rumor, The Seance and The Boy. The first season of The Umbrella Academy launched on February 15, 2019 and was ranked third on the list of Netflix’s most popular series of 2019.

Here is a synopsis of The Umbrella Academy for those who have not watched it: On the same day in 1989, 43 infants were born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven infants were adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his ‘children’ to save the world. In the first season, you see six surviving members reunite when they learnt of their father’s passing. Along the way, they worked to solve the mystery that surrounds his death. But of course, it is never that easy and other mysteries begin to unravel.

The Umbrella Academy season one is available on Netflix. Season 2 premieres on July 31.
