As most entertainment outlets are closed during this global pandemic, many have found creative ways to stay ‘open’. Just like Singapore Art Museum (SAM). SAM has joined the global #MuseumFromHome movement to bring its art online for free.
So what exactly is #MuseumFromHome? It is a hashtag/ strategy created by museums to engage with the public through remote alternatives. They want to speak to the need for education and inspiration during this challenging and confusing times.
With the help of Google Arts and Culture, you can now go on a virtual tour of SAM. You can now discover the museum’s different art collections ranging from installations to photography, painting, sculpture and many more. SAM has created 5 different categories: experience, discover, watch, connect and do with 1 more coming category coming soon, learn.
SAM has also uploaded the Biennale Finale, in which local musicians performed to wrap up the very successful Singapore Biennale, on YouTube. The best part about this #MuseumFromHome movement? It is completely free!! So what are you waiting for, let’s get clicking and learning.
