But WAIT before I dive into what products that really hit the jackpot. How many of you really know what exactly a pimple is? Or even how it is formed? It’s okay, we just don’t have that luxury of time or just rather spend doing other stuff such watching Kdrama or even play games. Who the fuck cares how it is form? BUT IT’S IMPORTANT. Instead of searching multiple sites that is a big waste of time or even unreliable WE GOT YOU COVERED so bare with us for a while, while we go through the basis of the basis.

So what’s a pimple?

A pimple is a small pustule or papule. When the sebaceous glands becomes clogged and infected with bacteria that’s when pimples are formed. BUT it also includes some signs and symptoms which includes

  • Swollenness
  •  Red lesions
  • Pain when touch
  • Yellow bumps on top of the pimple

How did pimples form?

Humans skin are covered with millions of millions of tiny wells, AKA pores. It sits at your hair follicles connected to the exterior part of your skin which is further connected to the sebaceous gland. It produces an oily substance called sebum. Sebum is released into the hair follicles and skin. Sometimes, the sebaceous gland released an excessive amount of sebum which can clog the pores. When the pores are clogged it will cause bacteria growth within the skin and clogged pores. As such, bacteria multiply at an astounding rate of 20-30 minutes. These bacteria will thus lead to swelling, inflammation and infection around clog pores. Thus a pimple will form.

What are the different types of pimple?

Whiteheads: AKA closed comedo, these are tiny pimple that grow under the skin common known as underground pimple. They usually appear a lot smaller compared to a normal pimple and have the same colour as the skin which is hardly visible as compared

Papules: These are small ,hard, rounded bumps that advance from the skin. They are often pinkish in colour

Pustules: These are pimples that contain lots of pus. They are easily spotted on the surface of the skin. The base of the pimple is red and the pus is usually yellow in colour.

Nodules: These have a similar form of papules, but they are much much larger. They can be extremely painful and are implanted deep in the skin.

Cysts: These are clearly visible on the surface of the skin. They are filled with pus and are usually painful. Cysts causes scars when you remove it

5)Tea leave oil

Does this product look familiar? Well, it’s no surprise this product can be found at Watsons. This product claims that it helps in minor cuts, burns, pimples, abrasions, boils, bites and stings. So does it really works?

YES IT DOES and it really helps to reduce swelling when applied on the pimple. ADMIT IT! Those itchy hands of yours are constantly tempted to ‘pop’ the pimple because it is annoyed as fuck  and sometimes you actually pop it! What happened next… I will leave it to your imagination and of course, your own experiences.

What are some of the steps when using this product?

  • Only apply on affected area
  • This should be the last step after cleansing your face, moisturizing etc
  • Put 1-2 drops of Tea Tree Oil on your finger, and gently dab it only your pimples or wherever you need to. Allow it to absorb into your skin, and don’t touch your face. DON’T NOT RUB.
  • ONLY use it at night most preferred every other night

How I feel about this product

  • At first it’s really gonna be painful so I suggest not to apply too much just 1 or 2 drops will be enough. Please don’t have the misconception of ‘ the more I apply the faster the pimples will go away’ because it won’t. In fact you just be wasting money because 1 bottle is very small and cost around $18 (smaller bottle) and $22 (slightly larger bottle) use it sparingly.
  • NEVER I MEAN NEVER GET IT IN YOUR EYES. Why? Because it’s really going to hurt like crazy! How crazy you may ask? Words can’t describe how painful it is. Yes it’s that painful but the only difference is that it is in your eye.
  • After you apply it let it dry before you go to bed. And when you wake up the next morning it’s going to magically disappear! LIES that’s bullshit I honestly can’t guarantee that, but what I promise is that it is going to be less swollen and less painful. Give it a while it will subside.

4)Nexcare acne patch

This product is very popular here in Singapore. There are many different ‘copies’ of this product  and out of all that I have tried, this is the best. When they remove the excess pus of the pimple they will usually if not all the time remove all the pus.

This product can also be found in Watsons store located at every convenience place in Singapore. In order for this product to work, you have to ‘pop’ your pimple. YES, I said it pop that pimple. Why? Because in order for this to work you need to expose the ‘head’ of the pimple before applying it.

What are some of the steps when using this product?

  •  There is actually not much step to it. After popping the pimple just paste the sticker on the pimple once you pop it. That’s all there really  isn’t much to it.

How I feel about this product

  • It’s generally a very good product I have honestly have no complaints for this product.
  • Sometimes when you are squeezing the pimples I get it that it is painful to squeeze out all the pus and sometimes you may or may not get all the pus. Thus, this is your solution.
  • There are 2 packs of pimple patch in the box. Each box cost around $8.10SGD.

3)Cosrx one step pimple pad

Only selling at Watsons, this item have an average of 4.9 stars among buyers which shows that customers are highly satisfied with the product. This product claims that with a single wipe it can clear pimples very quickly because the essence will be delivered deep into skin pores. It also claim that it will not cause irritation and makes a clear skin tone. For a price of $22.90 this item came from Korea and can be used for at least 6 months.

What are some of the steps when using this product?

  1. After cleansing, wipe the embossing side across the face avoiding eye area
  2. Swipe the rougher side across the face to make sure the pores will absorb the ingredients
  3. Swipe the softer side across the face to pick up the remaining debris.
  4. Replace the lid tightly to make sure the pads stay wet and clean.

How I feel about this product

  • The product is relatively simple to use because there really isn’t much step to follow. But my advice is not to rub too hard because whether you rub it hard or not the result will be the same. Instead if you rub it hard it will cause wrinkles so DON’T RUB TOO HARD!
  • For this product, try to use it once every 3 days because if you were to use it everyday, it is very drying for your skin which you will have to SPEND more money on moisture. NOT WORTH IT RIGHT? SO use it once every 3 days no matter how many dozens of pimples you have on your face
  • REMEMBER TO CLOSE THE LID PROPERLY I know some of you confirm won’t close properly. But it is important, because if you don’t close properly it will cause all the essentials to dry up which defeats the purpose of this product.

2) Hiruscar anti-acne pore purifying cleanser

Trying to look for the perfect cleanser that helps to prevent the growth of underground pimple or common known as the closed comedo. Well I actually found a cleanser that REDUCED the amount of underground pimple growth. It does not completely stop the growth of underground pimple and it’s very useful for oily and sensitive skin type. It contains ingredients such as Salicylic Acid to remove dead skin cells, Aloe Vera to reduce redness (Mucopolysaccharide polysulphate) AKA MPS helps to maintain the skin moisture, Moringa Seed Extract is to help remove impurities & protects skin from other debris.

What are some of the steps when using this product?

  • Press a small amount of Hiruscar Anti-Acne Pore Purifying cleanser and apply it onto face after rinsing in water.
  •  Gently massage your face in a circular motion for 30 seconds to a minute. Make sure every spot is covered. Rinse off and pat your face dry with a towel.
  • Do not rub your face when you dry it as this can irritate the skin and encourage wrinkles

How I feel about this product

  • One word…AMAZING!.  This product really solve my problems. Before using this product I used countless of products because the other cleanser either makes my face too dry or just makes my skin grow more pimples.
  • After applying, the face does not even feel dry at all. Outbreak of pimples is very rare.

1)Hiruscar anti-acne spot Gel

Part of the hiruscar family the anti-acne spot gel helps to get rid of almost any pimples including whitehead, blackheads and MORE! Made with salicylic acid which can get deep into your skin to do its job. SO what is ‘its’ job? Well… it helps to dissolves debris from the skin that clogs pores causing pimples, it also acts as an anti-inflammatory to help red inflamed pimples and pustules go away faster.

What are some of the steps when using this product?

  • Before you apply this product, REMEMBER to make sure to wash your face with cleanser and the rest of the necessary steps!
  • After completing ALL THE STEPS apply this product to your face at least 2 times a day for maximum results.
  • Since it is in a small concoction there really isn’t much to spare. So please use it sparingly and just apply a thin layer of gel over your pimple.

How about I feel about the product

  • I really don’t have much to complain about this product. It is relatively simple to use. However, do read the ingredients list to check if you are allergic to any of the ingredients because from what I know some of the ingredients such as salicylic acid can cause inflammation if allergic.
  • My only ‘complain’ is that it is very expensive. For such a small amount it cause a whopping amount of $19.90 that is almost $20SGD.

In a nutshell

I need to emphasize that all of these products that are listed here and the results are based on experimenting on my own skin. My skin types are oily and sensitive skin. If you have similar skin type I highly recommend you to try these products. Although, some of the products are slightly more expensive but if these products can help I don’t see why not.

My advice to you is that don’t be ‘penny wise pound foolish’ don’t just because of saving that few dollars and end up spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars. It’s really not worth it, just spend a little more on skincare products and you won’t have to visit the dermatologist.
